This pattern is in two sizes 18 -20 inches and 21 – 23 inches. This hat is designed to fit snuggly. You will use the same cast on number for both sizes, the needle size and length of the ribbing section is what will determine the size of the hat.

I recommend using a springy yarn, something with a high wool content. A good yarn would be one that is made of 100% merino wool, as the fabric made from it will make a stretchy and very soft hat. I used one ball of Karabella Aurora Melange for this hat, and had two inches left over.

Materials:

18 – 20 inch circumference:
* 100 yards (109m) of a worsted weight merino wool
* size 7US (4.5mm) 16″ circular needle
* one set of size 7US (4.5mm) double point needles or a circ long enough for Magic Loop

21 – 23 inch circumference:
* 110 yards (120m) of an aran weight wool yarn
* size 8US (5mm) 16″ (40cm) circular needle
* one set of size 8US (5mm) double point needles or a circ long enough for Magic Loop

Both:
* 1 tapestry needle
